A chemical soil barrier is a continuous treated zone of soil around the perimeter of your home (and under any slab penetrations) that termites cannot cross without picking up a lethal, transferable dose of termiticide. In the Sutherland Shire — where bushland-fringe blocks in Bangor, Illawong, Engadine and Alfords Point face constant termite pressure — a properly installed barrier is the most reliable single line of defence available.
We install Termidor HE (High Efficiency) as our primary product. Unlike older repellent termiticides, Termidor HE is non-repellent — termites cannot detect it. They walk through the treated zone, pick up the active ingredient (fipronil), then carry it back to nest-mates through grooming and trophallaxis. Colony decline begins within days.

What’s included
Most pest issues grow more complex and more expensive the longer they are left alone. A prompt inspection or treatment usually saves money, inconvenience and avoidable damage.
We show up on time, explain the treatment clearly, and back our work with written advice and follow-up recommendations. If you need the next step after an inspection or treatment, you'll know exactly what to do.

Our approach
No two homes, tenancies or commercial sites are the same. Every job gets a tailored plan based on access points, pest pressure, risk level and the outcome you actually need.
Installation involves trenching a 150mm wide x 150mm deep channel around the full external perimeter, drilling concrete paths and patios at 200mm centres to inject termiticide beneath, treating slab penetrations (pipes, conduit, expansion joints), and backfilling with treated soil. Most Shire homes take a single day; a durable notice is fixed in the meter box recording the product, date and applicator.
Termidor HE is registered for up to a 5-year protection period when applied at full label rate. We back this with a written workmanship warranty plus the manufacturer product warranty. Annual inspections during the warranty period are required — both to satisfy the warranty terms and to catch any breach (new landscaping, paving, gardens or plumbing repairs that disturb the barrier).
A licensed technician checks the infestation pattern, risk points, conducive conditions and any safety requirements for kids, pets or staff.
We explain the target pest, affected areas, products or monitoring involved, expected results and next steps before work begins.
You get practical preparation advice, a clear treatment summary and a follow-up recommendation to reduce reinfestation risk.

Chemical barriers are best suited to slab-on-ground homes, full renovations, properties with simple external perimeters and any home where access to the external face of the slab edge is straightforward. For complex landscaping or homes where the owner wants a non-chemical approach, in-ground baiting (Sentricon AlwaysActive) is the better choice.
