Even with a Termidor HE chemical barrier or Sentricon baiting installed, the way you maintain the property has a major impact on termite risk. Conducive conditions — anything that creates moisture, food or concealed access for termites — can compromise even the best treatment system. These ten habits dramatically reduce termite pressure on your Shire home.
1. Keep garden beds at least 75mm below weep holes and slab edges. Garden beds that bridge the slab give termites direct, concealed access into the wall cavity. 2. Remove timber-to-soil contact. Sleepers, fence posts and decking posts in direct soil contact are termite super-highways. 3. Store firewood and timber off the ground and away from the house — never against an external wall.

What’s included
Most pest issues grow more complex and more expensive the longer they are left alone. A prompt inspection or treatment usually saves money, inconvenience and avoidable damage.
We show up on time, explain the treatment clearly, and back our work with written advice and follow-up recommendations. If you need the next step after an inspection or treatment, you'll know exactly what to do.

Our approach
No two homes, tenancies or commercial sites are the same. Every job gets a tailored plan based on access points, pest pressure, risk level and the outcome you actually need.
4. Fix leaking taps, downpipes, gutters and shower recesses immediately. Termites need moisture; leaks create it. 5. Maintain subfloor ventilation. Clear blocked vents and never let garden beds or pavers cover them. 6. Trim trees and shrubs back from the building so leaves do not pile in gutters, against weep holes or against walls.
7. Direct sprinklers and irrigation away from the slab edge. 8. Do not stack pavers, mulch or building materials against external walls — even temporarily. 9. Check timber retaining walls, sleepers and pergolas annually for termite workings — these are often the first place a colony establishes before moving to the main building. 10. Book an annual AS 4349.3 timber pest inspection without fail.
